The Du Toit Family {A Newborn Lifestyle Session}

Welcome back, my oh-so-wonderfully-devoted blog readers! 

Today I'd like to share with you little Levi's 'In-Home' Newborn Lifestyle Session.

Older sister Leah, aged 2, is excitedly thrilled to have a younger brother, and she made that abundantly apparent at our shoot!

And as mom Larése says: "She adores her brother! She at first could not understand why he is now suddenly outside of mommy's tummy, but she soon embraced all of his squishiness and just want to give him cuddles and kisses!"

As you'll see from the photos, these little ones were so much fun to work with and already share such a connection. I can't wait to see how they interact as they get older! 


What's the first thing that ran through your mind when you both found out you were pregnant?

A whirlwind of emotions went through us. We were both excited about the new adventure our family would take.


What was your favorite part about our session together?

It was very relaxed and comfortable.


How did you prepare the baby for our photo shoot?

Just a little bit of prep regarding some clothing needed to be made...oh and of course a clean-ish house! 


How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you nervous or worried before? How did it turn out?

As a mom you stress about every little thing, and throwing a newborn and toddler (and hubby) into the mix to take photos made me stress even more. But on the day, Karien made us feel super relaxed and even took a few photos of our loving (but sometimes annoying) cat. 


What would be your advice to someone getting newborn photographs taken?

Just relax and be you. Don't force it. 

P.S. Mom - think about yourself for a while regarding what you would like to wear etc etc. Give yourself enough time to get everything ready.
